About Us

It was never your body. It was always the clothes.

For years, women over 45 were handed two choices: clothing cut for a 25-year-old, or clothing designed to make them disappear. Shapeless. Forgettable. Made to hide, never to be seen. Nothing made for the woman you actually are.

We think that’s backwards.

Where it began

Decades ago, my mother opened Hawthorne Vancouver — a small shop for the women this city kept overlooking. She believed something simple: that a woman doesn’t stop deserving to feel like herself the moment she turns fifty. She filled her racks with pieces that fit real bodies, and she watched women walk out standing a little taller than when they came in.

That shop was never about trends. It was about the feeling of putting something on and thinking, finally — this is for me.

Where it’s going

I grew up in that shop. I kept her name, dropped the fuss, and made it Hawthorne — the same belief, built for today. Easy, comfortable pieces made to feel like you, at the age you actually are. No squeezing into someone else’s idea of how you should look. No settling for shapeless.

Just clothes that fit your life, your comfort, and your day — from a morning coffee to an evening you didn’t want to dress down for.

What we believe

You were never the problem. The clothes were.

Every piece we carry is chosen with comfort and fit in mind first, because getting dressed should feel good — not like a compromise. We’re a small brand with a simple promise: to make clothing for the woman in the mirror, exactly as she is today.

Welcome to Hawthorne. We’re glad you’re here.
